This concert will feature music by Hans Krása, Viktor Ullmann, Pavel Haas, James Simon, Gideon Klein, and Erwin Schulhoff, and poetry by Ilse Weber, Gertrud Kolmar, and Selma Meerbaum-Eisinger. Performed by the young artists of the Mannes School of Music, the program features Krása’s “Three Songs for Baritone, Clarinet, Viola and Cello,” songs by Pavel Haas and Viktor Ullmann, Gideon Klein’s remarkable “Sonata for Piano,” James Simon’s “Sonata for Cello and Piano,” and Erwin Schulhoff’s “Sonata for Flute and Piano.”
